For those of you who have already downloaded Candy Cane Conspiracy, the book was published without a critical chapter. All retailers currently have the correct version. If you have 19 chapters and an epilogue, then you’ve got the correct version.
If you only have 18 chapters and an epilogue – BEWARE! You’re missing a critical chapter! I’m terribly sorry. Also, thank you to the reviewer who pointed out that a chapter might be missing. Instructions below for updating to the correct version with 19 chapters and an epilogue.
What to do if you have 18 chapters and an epilogue
Amazon
- Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
- Search for Candy Cane Conspiracy.
- If available, select Update Available, then select Update.
- If this doesn't provide the latest version, then turn your device off, then on.
- If this still doesn't resolve the issue, then please call customer support, because it should have =(
- Remove from your device.
- Upload again.
I experimented with another book and found that Google will provide you with the latest version of the book when you re-upload.
Kobo
Kobo's customer service informed me that they manually pushed the newest version to those who'd purchased the version lacking a chapter. Contact Kobo customer support if you still have only 18 chapters.
Apple
Apple's customer service informed me that “your readers will be notified to download the latest version when they go to open the book.”
Nook
Nook customer service explained that customers would need to “archive and un-archive the book in question to have the updated or new version.”
